Six cases of HIV / AIDS recorded each day in Taiwan?


The Ministry of Health and Welfare has issued a new data of of HIV/AIDS positive case. It raises to a total of 1,991 new HIV positive cases. This is the new data for the first 10 months of this year. Predominantly among young adults and middle-aged men, so it comes out that there are 6 people a day is infected with HIV/AIDS.

According to the ministry, 33,018 individuals had been diagnosed HIV positive in Taiwan as of the end of October. The age is ranging mostly in the 25-34 years old.


The major  cause of the HIV /AIDS case is due to unsafe sex. Last 2015 the data had been collected are between 15-34 years old had been affected.

The highest percentage of the data are those are engaged in homosexual activity. while the rest are involved in the heterosexual activity.

CDC deputy head Chuang Jen-hsiang (莊人祥) called for people to practice safe sex and take other measures to prevent the spread of AIDS.

Including in the data are the foreign workers that had been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.
