Numerous Companies In Taiwan To Eliminate Rehire Status Of Contract Migrant Workers

According to several reports, some companies in Taiwan will remove the 'rehire' status for contract migrant workers. Upon this situation, migrant workers from the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and other countries may not be able to rehire or renew their contracts.

This problem has already seen due to the ongoing trade war between the United States and China where raw materials for both countries have become higher in prices and other items out of exports.

Overseas Filipino Workers in Taiwan will now have a hard time to renew contracts. Other reasons for companies to remove rehire status is the higher minimum wage where they prefer first-time applicants instead of increasing the salary of their current employer.

Other companies already lessen the allowances and remove some bonuses to accommodate the new minimum wage in Taiwan.
