Thousands of Solar Industries Employees in Taiwan suffered Cross-Cutting

Taiwan Solar Industries cannot hide the loss of its production after the U.S.President Donald Trump had imposed a tariff in all importations.

January 23, last year. U.S President Donald Trump signed a proclamation to put tariffs on imported solar cells and modules for four years. The proclamation came to effect last year February 7, 2018.

Taiwan Solar Industries has been affected by this regulation and according to the data from last year up to the present. it drops for approximately 100 Megawatts per month to 8 Megawatts last December.

It is estimated that there are 4,000 regular employees who are on unpaid leave and over 10,000 part-time employees whose working time had been cut down due to companies cross-cutting according to Kuo Hsuan-fu, Head of PV Generation System Association of R.O.C.

As of now, many Migrant workers are also affected by cross-cutting because of the trade war between China and the U.S.
