22nd Indigenous Dengue Fever Recorded, Also Indicates An Outbreak In Kaohsiung


Another confirmed indigenous fever is recorded in southern port of Sanmin Distrcity, City of Kaohsiung. Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Taiwan has been determined to be a secondary infection which likely to indicate and outbreak. This has been the 22nd indiginkus fever recorded this year.


The patient developed usual dengue fever symtoms like severe headache, muscle pain, dizziness, fever. The patient is a woman and likely to be infected with Type-4 dengue virus.

CDC data shows that there are 21 listed cases of indigenous dengue fever in Taiwan which are all in Kaohsiung which now categorized as cluster outbreak.

Constant rain in the past weeks contributes to the boosted mosquito breeding. Indigenous dengue is infected by vector mosquitoes to the patients. CDC warned the public to stay aware become anyone is vulneravle to the infection.
