Free Medical Check up, Hair cut and parlor games for all Migrant Workers to kick off on Aug. 11 in Taipei



Taipei, Taiwan- The Taipei City Foreign and Disabled Labor Office (FDLO) will hold a special event intended for all migrant workers across the country on August 11, 2019, Sunday at Taipei Main Station. This is according to Secretary  Chen En-mei (陳恩美).

All migrant workers across the country will be eligible for the medical checks will cover height, weight, body fat, and blood pressure readings as well as eye and dental examinations. The only need to present ARC and Health card and the service is all FREE.

Aside from the medical mission, migrant workers also may avail the FREE HAIRCUT. And also parlor games for the migrant workers will be held, Chinese character differentiation. And then if the got it right they will receive special prizes.

The City Government of Taipei took the initiative because there are 46,554, or 92.5%  of migrant workers are in Taipei. And then the FDLO also announces that they will also hold a special event on Oct. 20 and Dec. 8,  according to Chen.

As of the end of June, there were 707,954 migrant workers in Taiwan, with Indonesia as the biggest source, accounting for 269,826, followed by Vietnam with 222,938, the Philippines 154,685, and Thailand 60,503, according to the Ministry of Labor.
