More than 1500 ducks culled in Changhua County due to avian flu

Changhua County, Taiwan - The Animal Disease and Control Center (ADCC) had confirmed of culling 1531 ducks this Sunday, July 21. The duck farm had been infected by Avian flu (H5N2).

Last Saturday, the National Animal Health Research Institute (AHRI) inspected the farm and found to have the virus. Immediate actions were recommended, culling of the 1531 ducks then followed by disinfecting the areas. This is confirmed by ADCC Director Tung Meng-chih.

One farm also tested positive with avian flu virus in Fangyuan village during the testing last July 17. And since last June, there are more than 70,000 free-range chicken were culled because of the avian virus.
