Taiwanese school a first in asia to allow Male students to wear skirt

Taiwan (July 23, 2019)- A months later after Taiwan become the first country in Asia to implement same sex marriage, A school in New Taipei City will become the first school in the country promoting Gender Equality.

Starting September, the Banqiao Senior High School will allow male students to wear skirt, this according to the school management. The female can wear pants in any color they want.

The Students Affair Division Head Lin San-Wei said that school had come up last month during the deliberation to scrap the old dress code rules. The move is to promote Gender Equality and not to encourage men to wear skirt according to San-Wei.

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that this is the first school that will implement a new kind of rules. And in the rules and regulations, the school authorities are allowed to change the dress code and hair policies as long as both parties, the parents and the teachers agreed on the rules. And also it must follows the democratic procedures.
