Online stores to issue invoices in accordance with Taiwan’s tax laws

E-commerce operators or online stores servicing Taiwan will start to issue electronics invoices or receipt in accordance with Taiwan’s tax laws.

Starting November 2019, foreign e-commerce to issue electronics invoices from online stores like Apple Online Store, Google and Sony with Facebook, Amazon Expedia and Uber to follow according to Ministry of Finance of Taiwan.

The Taiwan tax law that this kind of store must issue since January 2019 but they are given one year probation period to comply with this law. Any companies that will not follow this will be fined a maximum of NT$1million.

This companies are required to set up cloud issuance invoice systems and this system will send the invoice directly to the devices when purchased are made. This invoices will be called e-invoices and makes up 21% of all invoices in Taiwan.
