Pangasinan and Pampanga confirmed to have African Swine Fever outbreaks on pigs


The Philippines have confirmed ASF outbreaks in Pangasinan and Pampanga, joining the provinces of Rizal and Bulacan.

The government will conduct surveillance and monitoring within the 10-kilometer radius of the suspected premises around the four affected provinces.

According to Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino III, some of the 60 seized illegally transported hogs in Pangasinan tested positive for ASF which originally came from Bulacan. All the affected pigs were culled and buried.

Same with case of Pangasinan, affcted pigs with ASF that are checked in Pampanga also came from Bulacan.

Both province now implementing the 1-7-10 protocol, it is the government would cull all pigs within the 1-kilometer radius of the suspected farm and the movement of pork and pork products within the 7 kilometers would be limited.
