Senate Bill No. 29 or the “Parents Welfare Act of 2019” seeks approval in Philippine Senate

In Manila, Philippines Senador Panfilo Lacson refiled a bill of "Parents Welfare Act of 2019" this bill would penalized those who abandon thier old and sick parents

Under Senate Bill No. 29 or the “Parents Welfare Act of 2019” filed by Senator Panfilo Lacson, children are required to provide necessary support to their aging, sick, and incapacitated parents.

The bill, which Lacson also filed in the 17th Congress, seeks to further strengthen filial responsibility and to make it a criminal offense in case of flagrant violation thereof.
It states a parent may file a petition before the court and pray for the issuance of a support order against those children who failed or refused to provide the necessary aid.
The legal representation of the parent would be provided by the Public Attorney’s Office and no court fees would be assessed.

Violators will be slapped with imprisonment of one to six months or a fine of P100,000.

Lacson said those who left such parent in any place with the intention of wholly abandoning the latter would be punished with imprisonment of six to 10 years and a fine of not less than P300,000.

Meanwhile there's some aspect that the parents already abandoned thier child while they were young, and so on when the times comes that they already old, they were begging for forgiveness and acceptance, because they can no longer suppport their life.

They say that abandonment is a wound never heals, however, only that an abandoned child/children never forgets
When you make a decision to have a child you're also making the decision to take responsibility for that child/children. Abandoning your own  child/children just because you have other plans only means you are a coward to your obligation.
