Taiwan Government has donated an amount of US$100,000 to the Province of Sorsogon in the Philippines for the ongoing reconstruction of the province due to the Typhoon Kamuri which lashes the island last December 2, 2019 and leaves 17 deaths, several houses were damaged, and agricultural sectors were severely damaged.

Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero received in RCBC Plaza in Makati, January 17, 2020, the disaster relief donation from Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines (TECO) Representative Ambassador Michael Peiyung Hsu and Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) Vice-Chairman Gilberto Lauengco.

Escudero expressed his gratitude to Taiwan and its people for their generous assistance to the post-disaster relief operation in Sorsogon. "Taiwan has proven many times over that they are a friend, not only of myself but of the province and the people of Sorsogon," he remarked.

The ambassador underscored the commitment of Taiwan to stand with close neighbors in need of help. He also recognized their friendship with Escudero since his time in the Congress.

Typhoon Tisoy hit Sorsogon last December at peak intensity.

  1. Sana lang lahat ng binibigay na donations naiiabot talaga sa nangangailan... Please maawa naman kayo.... Wag nyong samantalahin ang pagkakataon
