"SMART JACKET" CAN DETECT PNEUMONIA 3 TIMES FASTER HAD BEEN INVENTED?

In Uganda, a "smart jacket" had been invented for pneumonia diagnoses and been tested as three times accurate than a normal check up of a doctor.

The gadget had been invented by Olivia Koburongo and her fellow Telecommunication Engineer and a team of doctors.

The "smart jacket" or in Uganda term "Mama-Ope" (mothers hope) was invented as an inspiration to Koburongo's grandmother who is suffering from pneumonia. Her grandmother was moved from hospital to hospital before being properly diagnosed with pneumonia.

The invented kit is now useful because Uganda has the highest rate of pneumonia patient in the world. There are 24,000 of children below the age of five are being diagnosed with pneumonia every year.

What is "Mama-Ope"?
It is a biomedical smart jacket and mobile phone application which does the diagnoses.

The jacket is slipped to the body and its sensor will pick up a sound pattern from the lungs, temperature and breathing rate. Then the processed of information is being sent to the mobile application (via Bluetooth). And then the analysis of information and comparison are being calculated.
