What are the working schedules and Compensations in Taiwan that everyone should know?

      Today, we will clarify the salary compensations and overtime of a migrant worker. A lot of complaints we received each day because they do not understand the working schedule of Taiwan Companies.

There are various types of working schedule in Taiwan and it depends on a company but with one rules being observed by all companies.

1. An employee must have a rest day on the 7th day. Now companies have different kinds of schedules. example 2-2, 3-1, 4-2, 5-2
2. Now the 6th day must be double pay (twice of the basic salary)
3. If the employee has worked on 7th day then the compensation will be thrice of its basic salary and must have a day off on the following weekends  (rest day schedule)

Now, the companies have the right to revoke the overtime because on the contract the overtime is not included.

How much is the compensation for the year 2019?
1. Starting January 1, 2019, the basic salary of Taiwan is NT$23,100
2. The hourly rate will be NT$150

Am I eligible for overtime pay after 8 hours of my work exceed?
Yes, all working hours that exceed 8 hours need to be paid by the company.

Is it right that my meal allowance is included in my basic salary?
Yes, sad to say the Taiwan Government allow this kind of deceiving tactics or scheme.
