Death toll of Seasonal flu in Taiwan rises to 61, while 858 were severely infected


Taiwan death case of Seasonal flu last week added new 5 fatalities. This was confirmed by Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control. Bringing a total of 61 total death cases in the country.

Four of the fatalities are due to the H1N1 virus while the other one was due to the H3N2 virus, according to CDC Physician Lin Yung-ching. And most are aged 51-90.

According to the statistic from January 26 to February 1, a total of 102,013 had sought medical attention from different hospitals and clinics around the country.

Last January 31, 2020., the Centers for Disease Control had reported 13 cases of deaths because of H1N1 or Swine flu virus.

From October 1, 2019, to February 1, 2020, a total of 61 deaths and 858 severe cases have been reported and 98 percent of which has not received the flu vaccine. According to CDC Deputy Director-general Chuang Jen-Hsiang.
